Brackets in Programming and Code

If you code, you already know brackets intimately. But here's something most people don't realize — there are Unicode brackets that look like code brackets but aren't. Sending ⟨angle brackets⟩ in a chat looks like code without actually being code. Some developers use this for pseudo-code in messages.

The mathematical angle brackets ⟨ ⟩ are technically different characters from < >. In academic papers and physics notation, you're supposed to use the proper Unicode ones. Most people don't bother, but now you know.
